How Your Fake Barf Is Made
Don't they look delicious?
Jokes don't get much funnier than fake barf. It's a classic for a reason. But how much do we know about how our novelty puke is made? Fake vomit aficionados Stan and Mardi Timm know a lot. Too much? Impossible. They recently shared their extensive knowledge of the industry, including some observations from their tour of a fake barf factory in Chicago, with Collectors Weekly.
These "cookies" were 500 pieces of fake barf, spread out as far as the Timms' eyes could see, "curing" under the skylights in the Chicago summer sun. The secret formula is mixed up in a big bucket, and the workers ladle it out, "like you make pancakes," Stan says. "Each one comes out a little different, of course, but that’s okay."Of course it's OK! This quintessentially American product is being hand-crafted by real Americans in an actual American factory! I had no idea. Call me cynical, but I just assumed fake puke was made in China. My faith in American manufacturing has been rejuvenated. REAL AMERICANS are ladling up REAL FAKE VOMIT! (Like pancakes.) It's truly artificially heartwarming.
