Panniers

I've been wanting to get some panniers for my bike, but maybe I'll just get some for my hips.
Panniers were a key feature of the 18th century robe à la française. Hoops worn under the petticoat extended the wearer's skirt up to several feet on each side, preventing her from walking through all but the widest of doorways. The word comes from Old French via the Latin word for "bread basket". You could fit a whole lot of baguettes in those babies. Image Source.
