The new Maria Daniela single is sweet electro pop confection.
When I first heard it, I was struck by its pure 80s sound, right down to the Grandmaster Flash-style rapping (à la The Message). Sure enough, it's a cover. The original is by a Movida Madrileña-era pop band called Objetivo Birmania. Hallelujah, there's a video!
Here's a translation of that tremendous chorus: "I can't stand you anymore. You're really boring. Don't ever call me."

Well, this kid just unicycled right into my heart.

Did you know this was a thing?!
Typically, unicycles give me rage seizures, but I am totally on board with unicycle dancing. It reminds me of freestyle canoeing in its utter ridiculousness, but it's surprising graceful, like ice skating.

Imagine that you are this perfectly serene capybara.

I ran into Rock Biter at Devil's Lake this weekend.
Dude wouldn't shut up about his big, strong hands. I was very afraid that I might end up climbing on his big rock dick.

Does anyone else find this engraving ABSOLUTELY CHARMING?
I'd like to make it into a stamp. Scientific American uses it to illustrate "open defecation" in their slide show, A Brief History of the Toilet. Appreciate the toilet, people! I occasionally flush a few dollars down mine as thanks.

Hit me now!
I love this. He's like an ultramodern Buddy Holly. He's updating early rock and roll similarly to how Amy Winehouse did jazz. Here's how he describes his style: "Think Bo Diddley remixed by Swizz Beatz." How is this guy not super famous yet?

Maybe you too might fascinate me.

Or teenage mutant ninja turtle spirit to be exact. What do you think that smells like? I'm guessing probably raw sewage and stale pizza.

I've been wanting to get some panniers for my bike, but maybe I'll just get some for my hips.
Panniers were a key feature of the 18th century robe à la française. Hoops worn under the petticoat extended the wearer's skirt up to several feet on each side, preventing her from walking through all but the widest of doorways. The word comes from Old French via the Latin word for "bread basket". You could fit a whole lot of baguettes in those babies. Image Source.

I'll be sending a check back in time for a red pair. My legs feel so bound up in my regular non-kickin' jeans. I can't wait to start kickin'! I'm gonna kick everyone!

BRB, getting a banana.
This super catchy lambada pop song from London-based Brazilian DJ João Brasil features the unmistakable voice of Lovefoxxx, CSS's wildly charismatic frontwoman. The new CSS album, La Liberación, is due for release later this month.
