Vivienne Westwood's Derelicte Collection

Model pushing shopping cart down runway

A model pushes a shopping cart down the runway during Vivienne Westwood's show last month in Milan. Um, has she never seen Zoolander?

In Zoolander (2001), fashion designer Mugatu (Will Ferrell) describes his Derelicte collection as a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique. That was supposed to be satire, but Vivienne Westwood has made it a reality with her Men's Fall 2010 homeless chic collection.

The runway was covered in cardboard boxes. Some of the models carried bedrolls. Their hair and faces were covered with silvery make-up so it would seem that, according to Westwood, they were sleeping rough and they’d got frost in their hair.

Who knew that you could look so hot while freezing to death?

She should have had the models carry jars of their own urine. That would have been so Derelicte!

She should be horsewhipped. With a horse.

She admitted that she's never been homeless: The nearest I have come to it is going home and finding I don’t have my door key. I mean, what a disaster that is, dying to get in your house and you can’t. So, she totally knows what it's like because she lost her house key once.

I apologize. Little did I realize how deeply she has suffered. Make it a dead horse.
