Gigi Gaston is not a real yé-yé girl and Godard did not direct this short film. Gigi is the invention of artist Josh Gosfield. He created an entire history for his imaginary pop star and it's very convincing.

He made a bunch of record sleeves and magazine covers.

But of all the wonderful details, my favorite has to be the Gigi paper doll:

It's just like the paper doll of Francoise Hardy, who in this rich narrative is Gigi's yé-yé rival!

It's all part of an elaborate, fascinating art project called Gigi Gaston, The Black Flower.
