Mameshibas are dog-faced beans that come from Japan. Like the Sanrio characters, the Mamegomas (miniature seals), and the adorable anthropomorphized breasts of Milk Village (my favorite), Mameshibas are a group of kawaii characters designed to make otherwise cheap, useless products absolute necessities for the cute-addicted masses. There are over 20 Mameshibas in the family, including the soybean, the black bean, the coffee bean, and the jelly bean. The company that created them made a series of 30-second ads to introduce them. In each one, a person is about to eat the Mameshiba before it surprises them by coming to life and sharing a weird bit of trivia with them. Watch them all and then go eat some beans!
