School for Rogue Monkeys

Monkey Reading

I would like to apply for the headmistress position, please.

India has been having trouble with their urban monkey population for years. Culling is out of the question due to the Hindu reverence for the monkey, which also exacerbates the problem because people often feed them. Some, er, creative measures have been taken. Back in 2007, the BBC reported that private citizens in Delhi came upon the brilliant idea of training larger, more ferocious langur monkeys to keep the smaller Rhesus macaques in line. The latest bizarre idea is the plan to open a school for rogue monkeys. The proposed new monkey school will take in the 'worst offenders' and put them through a crash course in good manners. So, it'll be kinda like charm school for monkeys. The macaque students will learn which forks to use, proper grooming habits, and how to select a wine. Once the genteel monkeys make their debut into high society, India's streets will be teeming with a more aristocratic monkey plague, which just sounds awesome. Great job, India!
